I’ve been on a mission to complete projects that I’ve started – but never finished. I made a list of 7 projects that I told myself I absolutely HAD to finish before I could start something new.
But then I went to Denmark.

And I just had to buy some yarn there – and because I bought some new yarn, I had to start a NEW project 😃 The project is a new design, a filet crochet blanket, that I’m calling Elias. More on that later when I finish writing the pattern.
I only bought 7 skeins of the yarn Esther by Permin, and I justified this purchase as work research. We sell Permin yarn in my store, but not this type. And if I like Esther I might decide to have her in my store.

I visited the cutest yarn shop that is also a café called Woolstock. If you go to Copenhagen I highly recommend visiting the shop. It had such a cozy atmosphere, and it had a lovely selection of yarn in lots of colors.

The purpose of my visit wasn’t to look at yarnstores or buy yarn. That was just a bonus. I went there to visit my cousins and take a little break from work.
I had been warned before I went there that it was really cold in Copenhagen during the winter and that I should take warm clothes with me. Hot water is much more expensive in Denmark than in Iceland, so they don’t heat their houses as much as we Icelanders do.

Turned out that I didn’t have to worry much about the cold. My cousins said it was freezing, but it was just basic coldness for Iceland. I took a knitted wool sweater with me but didn’t use it once.

I did have a lovely time with my cousins. We stayed at a 5 star hotel for one night, and it was amazing. We also chilled, talked, and laughed a lot.
I promised myself that I would finish the Elias blanket before I would do anything else! And I’m sticking to it. I also plan on writing up the pattern and publishing it as soon as possible. Wish me luck 👌
